Avita Community Partners is seeking the right candidate to serve as a full-time Community Living Support (CLS) CNA– Companion for I/DD Services. The goal of this position is to support individuals with developmental disabilities to become active and integrated citizens within their communities. This will be accomplished by helping individuals who have identified their personal preferences and have a Person-Centered Plan in place. The CNA will offer support which honors these preferences. Staff in this position will work in cooperation with clients, families, community members, support coordinators, and consultants and other Avita staff.
Credentials/Qualifications: Must hold and minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree, and demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and computer skills so as to be able to perform the duties.
Must hold a CNA certification in the state of Georgia
Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule of late afternoons, evenings and weekends. This position is based in the community. Must be 21. Possession of a driver’s license valid in the State of Georgia, motor vehicle insurance as required by Georgia Law, and a good driving record is required. Applicants must not have six (6) or more points against their driver's license or a suspended or revoked driver's license within the last five (5) years.
Those chosen to fill open positions will be required to support individuals within the 13 county region. A company car should be provided during program hours.
A Pre-Employment Background will be conducted. This includes, but is not limited to, any of the following: Criminal (Both State and Federal Finger Printing), Driving, Educational and Employment record verifications/inquiries.
The advertised salary includes a stipend for evenings, nights and weekends.
